Crochet Fox Themed Blanket and Bonnet

I was so excited to learn that a friend of mine was expecting!  TIME TO CROCHET…

I had the idea for this simple but sweet fox gift set while I was making my Pumpkin Bonnet pattern.  The colors would lend so nicely to a fox and I had a lovely natural yarn in my stash that would contrast nicely.

The baby shower is in 2 weeks.  And since I was already making this a gift, I decided it would be a gift for you too.  Though I won’t turn down a donation😊 .

Notes:  I always start my first stitch in the same stitch as the chain.

Special Bobble Stitch:   *YO, insert hook through next stitch, pull up a loop.* repeat this for a total of 5 times.  YO, and pull the yarn through all the loops on the hook.   This stitch adds so much beautiful texture!

Materials Needed:

  • Craft Value Yarn in Curry
  • Craft Value Yarn in Natural
  • Darning Needle
  • Scissors
  • 4mm crochet hook or hook to meet gauge.  Check your gauge (below).  I find my tension is naturally a bit looser, so I used a 4mm hook.

Gauge:  4.5 dc stitches and 3 rows in 1″.

Gauge Pattern:  Ch.10.  Dc into the second ch from the hook. Dc7.  (8sts)

                              Rows 2-5:  Ch2, turn.  Dc8.  (8sts)

Get your ruler and measure the gauge.
