Secret Ingredient Veggie Soup

Here’s my confession for the day… I’m not a writer. So I’m not about to write an exciting lead up to what the secret ingredient is, sorry.

Are you ready?   *exciting drum roll* … That’s all you get.

Cottage Roll Broth. EASY.  Learn how to make it below. It really-really is so easy. There’s no intensive ingredient list. It is literally the cooking water from a cottage roll and it is a flavor bombshell. And even better, you get to enjoy the cottage roll itself first, so you have a meal pair here, which always makes meal planning easier.

It’s also cheap, and wastes less. Which is becoming one of my mottos around here. Love More, Waste Less. Click the picture below and it will bring you to my post on making a cottage roll and broth.

The veggie soup that results from this secret ingredient is the best veggie soup I’ve ever made. Combined with canned tomatoes it instantly resembles classic canned veggie soups, but fresh and better.

Packed with vitamins and minerals this is obviously a healthy choice and you’ve really got to try it!

I feel as thought the pictures speak for themselves. Look at the colors, look at it! It’s fabulous.

And without any further writing torture, here’s the recipe…

Secret Ingredient Veggie Soup

This veggie soup boasts it's classic flavor from the secret ingredient. This is the BEST veggie soup I've ever made, and the ingredient list is short and basic.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Servings 8

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Cottage Roll Broth (secret ingredient)
  • 28 oz Can of diced tomatoes
  • 12 oz Can of corn
  • 2 Large Carrots Sliced or Diced
  • 1 cup Packed Sliced and Diced Celery leaves and stalks
  • 2 cups Uncooked Pasta

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta separately.
  • Chop and measure all veggies.
  • Combine all the ingredients, in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 20 -30 minutes until all the veggies are tender.
  • Add the desired amount of pasta and soup to each serving bowl as desired.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

I generally keep the pasta and soup separate to avoid the pasta swelling.
It's also ideal without the pasta to freeze any leftovers.
