Maybe you saw boning on the materials list and wondered what it was?!
Boning, is pronounced with a long o sound. Like bones. Boning is used in corsets or bras for example for stability. And it works wonders for brims on crochet hats! Woohoo. I’m not a fan of floppy brims and if you’re not either, I don’t recommend skipping the boning.
I found mine at a local FabricLand and for only a few dollars.
I love making baby hats and accessories! They work up so fast and are so much fun. This is a very simple hat, but with the right color and embellishment it will WOW!
Let’s get started!
Some stitch abbreviations used are:
Ch = Chain
Sc = Single Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet
Slst = Slip Stitch
St = stitch
FLO – Front Loops Only
Sk = skip
I also love using the magic circle technique to start. Don’t know how?
