The Tastiest, Cheapest, 4-Ingredient Soup You’ll Ever Eat

 

 

Cheapest, tastiest, easiest!!! This soup is all of these things and you’ll see why… 

 

Some low ingredient recipes = low quality results. But I attest, this isn’t what you might expect from a 4 ingredient soup.  

 

All you need for this soup is:

  1. 8 Cups of Cottage Roll Broth  (see below on how to make)
  2. 2 Cups of Red Lentils
  3. 1 Can of Creamed Corn
  4. 1/2 cup to 1 cup of Leftover Cottage Roll

We have become so accustomed to wastefulness.

 

But who could blame us? We are constantly bombarded with ads and products; the newest gadget. And the packaging we are constantly discarding conditions us even more to not even give it a second thought. Throwing things away is second nature isn’t it? 

 

I always used to cringe at discarding the broth and fat from a crockpot ham or cottage roll though. What a waste! I knew it held value and that we could use it. 

 

I never understood why I never saw recipes for making meat broths other than chicken or beef.  There is the argument that the high levels of salt is unhealthy, but we heavily dilute it.

 

 

 

 

 

We’re also constantly being given new information about what is good for us, and what diet we should eat. Fats had their turn in the spotlight, and got a really bad rep. Now, they are a known necessity. And we all remember when eggs were considered the worst food there ever was. 

 

Because my youngest has a lot of allergies and intolerances, our family doesn’t eat a ton of processed meals that are loaded with salts and fats, so I can enjoy the goodness this soup has to offer without the guilt. And you should too. 

 

I personally feel as though using all we can from what we have been given, is not only good for us but for the earth as well.  Waste not, want not. 

 

 

 

 

Thankfully, times are changing. People are starting to care more about the earth that sustains us.

Tastiest 4 Ingredient Soup You'll Ever Eat

This delicious, cheap, simple soup is make with cottage roll broth, lentils, corn and some leftover cottage roll. So simple, but SO good!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Course Main Course
Servings 8

Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups cottage roll broth
  • 2 cups red lentils
  • 1 can creamed corn
  • 1/2 - 1 cup left over cottage roll meat

Instructions
 

  • Combine the broth, lentils and corn and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce to medium low heat, cover and cook until the lentils are tender, stirring once and a while.
  • Serve and garnish with warmed leftover cottage roll.
  • Enjoy!
